This four-week sermon series, At The Movies: Finding Faith in Film, explores how the universal structure of storytelling reveals the divine narrative of Scripture. Week 1 establishes that we are not accidents of fate but intentional masterpieces, cast by the Master Director as Image Bearers in His original “very good” creation. Week 2 dives into the “inciting incident” of the human story, examining how our desire to direct our own lives led to the Fall, introducing the conflict of shame and the reality of a broken world. Week 3 marks the arrival of the Hero, Jesus Christ, who enters our mess to pay the ultimate debt on the cross and proves His power over the “darkest scene” through the Resurrection. Week 4 brings us to the “final cut,” showing how God edits our brokenness into a new script of redemption, restoring our purpose as we await the grand premiere of His renewed kingdom. Together, this series helps us see our lives through a cinematic lens, trusting that the Director is crafting a masterpiece out of every scene.
